A decision has been made to approve a 12-month pilot scheme to improve Fareham Town Centre security and incorporate a programme of raising public awareness. 
 
The scheme will commence on Monday 27 January and will be operated by Venture Security. They will have two security officers present in the town centre from Monday to Friday each week. They will be wearing red uniforms and their hours will vary, being present early mornings on some days and later hours on others.
 
The officers will finely balance support and signposting with enforcement, and work collaboratively with the various council departments, businesses and our community safety partners.
